What is BRAZILIAN BUTT LIFT?

This is a popular cosmetic procedure involving transfer of specialized fat to create a fuller butt and give you a more natural looking butt.

Who are the ideal candidates for BBL?

You are an ideal candidate for BBL if:

1. You have flat shapeless butts
2. You have sagging butts due to aging
3. You are bothered by imbalanced figure and cannot wear body hugging dresses
4. You have problem areas of fat pockets in thighs, abdomen etc. but need fullness to buttocks
5. You maintain a healthy stable weight

Why fat transfer is preferred to silicone butttock injectables now?

Silicon injectables should be discouraged due to the following reasons -

1. They do not impart natural look to the butt
2. Chances of infection are higher
3. They are not safe and also illegal for use.

What is the procedure like?

The procedure is usually done under general anaesthesia. It involves fat grafting to the butt area and can be divided into 2 steps -

1. Harvesting of fat from areas such as thigh or abdomen. This is then centrifuged and purified.
2. This fat is then transferred to the butt area making it fuller and rounder. It is typical for a portion of the injected fat not to “take” in its new location, so initially a slightly greater amount of fat into the buttocks is injected than is needed.

Any complications related to the procedure?

Minor complications like pain, infection, scarring, fat absorption leading to distorted shape are common but rarely fat embolism have been reported, more so if fat is injected in muscle layer.

How is the recovery?

Complete recovery may take 4 to 6 weeks. You would be required to sleep on your sides for 2 weeks post surgery. Also, normal sitting is allowed after 8 weeks. Swelling may take time to subside and you may take 3 to 6 months to appreciate the final result.
Sometimes you may require additional fat injections later if fat absorption is too much.

What is Sculptra butt lift?

This butt lift is done with filler Sculptra into the soft tissue of the buttock. It helps in adding volume and also stimulates our body to create more collagen. It is an OPD procedure but requires multiple sessions due to large volume being required.

When should an implant be used for butt lift?

If you are too lean and there is no site for fat harvesting, then you are a candidate for butt implant. They can add volume but look a little less natural. Complications of using these include capsular contraction and little higher risk of infection.
